Position: Diesel Mechanic

Reports to Plant Manager.

Job Overview

Perform general preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic test with an emphasis on Electrical, Air, and Hydraulic systems on a fleet of vehicles including, flat beds, concreate mixer trucks, and various yard equipment and vehicles such as, forklifts and wheel loaders.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, maintenance, and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, pickups, etc.
  • Responsible for performing diagnostic test on diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering, and cooling systems.
  • Responsible for performing diagnostic tests on electrical components and hydraulic systems, along with suspension and braking systems.
  • Analyze diagnostic test results and complete appropriate repairs.
  • Keeps track of the maintenance work on the vehicles and communicates these services to the plant manager.
  • Ensures services provided are in compliance with the rules and regulations of inspection and safety procedures.
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.

Job Requirements

  • · High School Diploma or Equivalent GED
  • · 1-3 yrs. experience in Diesel Mechanics preferred
  • · AC and Welding Experience a plus
